Don Foster is an accomplished live performer, award-winning recording artist, song writer and music teacher who lives in Easley, SC. Picking up his first instrument at age 3, he grew passionate about playing music, especially his first love - the guitar - and has been playing for more than 40 years.
Don has been sharing his musical knowledge and experience with others since 1987, when he began teaching. He currently offers lessons in guitar, fiddle/violin, banjo, mandolin, electric bass and ukulele. He is certified as a violin instructor in the Sassmannshaus Method – Starling University, Cincinnati, OH, studying under the professor of the University of Kentucky.
Under his stage name, D. Logan Foster, Don help start his first rock band Excalibur while attending Crescent High School in Iva, SC. Over the years, he has held the reins as lead guitarist in rock and blues bands including Zagstrom, First Offence, the Switch Band, Outta Da Bleu, Identity Crisis and the Leftovers. With axe (or other instrument) in hand, he has perfromed all over the country. He most recently reunited with First Offence (aka FOB Sound Company) - and sometimes embarks on various bluegrass adventures.
Don had recorded several solo albums over the years on the CRT Music-Dee/ELF Entertainment label, including 319008, Something in the Water, Dangerous Hillpuppies Mystery Ship, Black Ankle Boogie, Wild and Crazy Aura for a Cuban Eels's Face and Gospel Guitar. As part of the Leftovers, the band's album "Reheat and Serve" won a Grindie award in 2009 for best Rock CD. Foster wrote or co-wrote all the material on these recordings and is a member of ASCAP. His latestest endeavor, "Classicical Guitar."
